Qualifications To Be An Egg Donor
AEB donors undergo an extensive multi-level screening based on both objective and subjective standards designed to satisfy both the egg donation rules and guidelines of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technologies and our own criteria based on years of experience.
EGG DONOR QUALIFICATIONS
Female between the ages of 20 to 30 (up to 31 for experienced donors)
Height/weight proportional with a BMI of 28 or less Calculate BMI here
Non-smoker or not have smoked within the past year
Non-drug user and no history of drug use
No criminal history
No anti-depressants or anti-anxiety medications in the last year
No history of genetically transmitted diseases
No sexually transmitted diseases in the past year and no positive HIV testing at any time
Test within the normal range of the Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI)
Provide verification of blood type
Have full emotional support of husband, if married
Have a reliable means of transportation
Able to provide medical and genetic history of biological family members, including biological parents and grandparents. This applies even if the applicant is adopted.
Have not been on the following forms of birth control in the last six months: Depo-Provera, IUD or implants (e.g., Implanon and Nexplanon)
Able to give yourself daily injections with small needles
Candidates must pass an initial phone screening or fill out our brief online application. After the initial screening, candidates will complete an in-depth background questionnaire and will be asked to submit multiple photos of themselves at the following ages: current, birth to three years, elementary school, and middle school or high school. Any candidate reporting higher education (beyond high school) must provide verification (transcripts).
Later in the process, candidates will meet with a licensed mental health professional for a clinical interview/assessment and will complete the Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI). The PAI is a widely used and researched test of adult behavior and psychopathology. The test is based on 344 true/false questions and takes approximately one hour to complete.
